Vivian moved to the Bay Area in 2015 from Long Beach to pursue an education in holistic medicine and become a second generation acupuncturist. She was exposed to acupuncture and herbal medicine at a young age, often experiencing it firsthand or during assisting/observing her parents take care of others.
Vivian studied eastern medicine at American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM) in San Francisco. As a clinical intern, Vivian saw how much acupuncture could help improve the health and lives of people, especially when providing weekly acupuncture care for the low income community through ACTCM’s partnership with GLIDE Memorial Church in San Francisco. She studied low impact, gentle adjusting techniques that relieve pressure off nerves and joints at Life Chiropractic College West. Vivian also has an interest in women’s health, facial/cosmetic acupuncture, and maintaining wellness to help people age gracefully.
Growing up beachside, she developed a passion for hobbies involving the ocean: including scuba and free diving, surfing, and fishing.
Other hobbies/interests include: traveling, spending time in nature, ceramics, and skincare.

Until 150 years ago, acupuncture, moxibustion, and herbology were the main medical therapies used in Japan. Hide (pronounced “Hee-day”) was born into one of the oldest acupuncture families in Japan. He grew up watching and helping his mother in her acupuncture clinic as she treated thousands of people with a wide range of conditions. Here he experienced firsthand the powerful benefits of Oriental Medicine. The deep level of respect and appreciation the patients displayed for his mother’s skills, and her ability to help people heal, made a profound impact on Hide - it was a natural choice for him to attend acupuncture college after high school.
Hide attended Osaka Acupuncture College in Japan, becoming a 6th generation acupuncturist. He later came to the United States, where he attended the San Francisco College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He is licensed in the U.S., as well as in Japan.
Hide opened the first Holistic Health Center clinic in 1989. Hide specializes in energy balancing to promote the body’s own healing energy. He enjoys meeting new people and educating them about the benefits of Traditional Oriental Medicine. Hide is an avid surfer who restores his own healing energy in the ocean waves. Hide also holds a 5th degree black belt, and teaches karate in San Mateo. He believes his karate practice helps him to develop his strength and focus. Hide speaks English and Japanese.
